Mexico Condemns Intervention in Venezuela and Calls for Respect for Sovereignty

«Politics is not imposition», wrote Brugada Molina, while recalling the phrase of Benito Juárez: «Respect for the rights of others is peace». Mexico does not remain silent when the sovereignty of peoples is violated. Our history taught us that dignity is not negotiable and that peace is only possible with respect for the rights of others. With President @Claudiashein, Mexico acts with principles, memory, and conviction. López Obrador also defined himself as Mexican and Latin American, expressed his support for President Claudia Sheinbaum, and warned that momentary victories can become future defeats if one does not act with respect and political judgment. Clara Brugada, head of government of Mexico City, expressed her support for the position of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in defense of the sovereignty of peoples, after the former head of state published a message on social networks about the situation in Venezuela and the foreign policy of the United States. In a message, Brugada stated that «Mexico does not remain silent when the sovereignty of peoples is violated», alluding to the pronouncement of López Obrador, who, although he assured he was retired from politics, said he could not remain silent before what he qualified as an «attack on the sovereignty of the people of Venezuela». In his message, AMLO maintained that his libertarian convictions prevent him from remaining silent and criticized what he considered a haughty attitude from the government of the United States. «Neither Bolívar nor Lincoln would accept that the government of the United States acts as a world tyranny», he pointed out. The head of the capital expressed her support for the foreign policy of the Government of Mexico, headed by President Claudia Sheinbaum, and energetically condemned the military intervention against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, considering it a violation of international law. In addition, she called on President Donald Trump not to act from imposition and to avoid a policy based on force.
